Dr Rachel Brown

Dr Rachel Brown received her BA in Biology from Williams College, and her PhD in Neuroscience from Georgetown University, where her dissertation focused on enzymatic and non-enzymatic neurosteroid synthesis in human brain during oxidative stress. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Arizona and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, her research interests focused on the integrity and function of the blood-brain barrier in health and disease. Dr Brown has published over 30 papers in a number of high ranked journals, and has served as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Physiology, Brain Research, Life Science, Peptides, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, and Journal of Neuroendocrinology. She has a wide range of expertise in cell and molecular biology, drug delivery and pharmaceutics, and in vitro models.
